Vuosi 2011 ja Virgo Fourin legendaarinen, Traxin julkaisema debyytti Virgo vuodelta 1989 julkaistaan uudelleen. Sen perään tulee Resurrection, joka koostuu demoista vuosilta 1984-1990. Yksi levyn biiseistä on It’s A Crime.  Tämän sielukkaampaa housea saa hakea. En tiedä mistä edes aloittaisin. Saa ehdotella.

Virgo Four on Chicagosta. Eric Lewisin ja Merwyn Sandersin klassikko on ikävä kyllä jäänyt pienten piirien salaisuudeksi. Chicagon eteläpuolella kasvaneet miehet tapasivat ala-asteella ja soittelivat yhdessä funk- ja pop-hittejä jo lapsina. Lukioiässä tanssimusa kolahti ja loppu on historiaa.

Julkaisuja on tullut eri nimillä: Virgo Four, pelkkä Virgo, parin alunperinkin käyttämä M.E., Ace & The Sandman… Kulttistatus on vahva.

Virgo Four’s, aka Virgo, legendary debut on Trax from 1989 was rereleased in 2011, followed by a collection of demos and outtakes from 1984 – 1990 called Resurrection. It’s A Crime is one of the songs on the compilation and I can’t recall the last time I heard house with this much soul in it. And funk. Old school. If you know of more songs of this caliber, let me know.

Virgo Four is from Chicago. This classic band consisting of Eric Lewis and Merwyn Sanders has remained a cult favorite for the chosen few. They are both from musical families and started playing pop and funk hits together in elementary school. During high school, both were bitten by the dance music bug and the rest is history.
