Välillä vastaan tulee soundi, joka nyrjäyttää pään eri asentoon ihan heti. Pelkkä soundi. Mark Ernestus on tehnyt tämän meille. Hän rakensi basso-ohjuksen joka porasi tiensä maan ytimeen, käynnistäen hidastetun seismisen tapahtuman joka jatkuu tähän päivään. Hitaasti.
Mark Ernestus on tuonut maailmaan nimiä kuten Hard Wax, Basic Channel, Rhythm & Sound, Dubplates & Mastering.
Hard Wax oli levykauppana musiikin ja informaation solmukohta. Se auttoi luomaan berliiniläisen konemusiikin infrastruktuurin. Basic Channel yhdisti teknon ja dubin. Rhythm & Sound syvensi tätä yhteyttä. Työ laajeni Dubplates & Mastering studiolla levyjen masterointiin ja kaiverrukseen. Eli oikeaan poraamiseen, basson kaivertamiseen.

Every so often a sound comes along that reorients your position in the known universe. Or the whole known universe. Mark Ernestus made such a sound. It was like a slow motion bass missile that drilled its way into the core of the Earth, at 20 mph, and started a seismic event that is still undolfing. Slowly.
Mark Ernestus has brough into the world names like Hard Wax, Basic Channel, Rhythm & Sound, Dubplates & Mastering.
Hard Wax was a record store, a node point for music and information. It helped create the Berlin electronic music scene. Basic Channel brought together techno and dub. Rhythm & Sound deepened the connection. At Dubplates & Mastering he started mastering an dcarving, literally drilling the bass into the world.
